Where can I pick up my rented car?
You can either pick your rented vehicle from our main office location, about 2 minutes from the airport, or have the car delivered to you.
Can Fast Rent a car deliver the car to my hotel? Yes, we can deliver the car to your hotel within San Jose, Alajuela and Heredia Cities at no charge. Other locations: 1. We prepare the rental agreement in advance (all you do is sign upon taking possession of vehicle) 2. When we deliver your vehicle to the airport, we wait for you at the exit of the arrivals terminal with a sign displaying your name (airline arrival info is required) 3. You check-out the car at the airport or hotel.
Do you have an airport location? No, an office at the airport would require us to raise our rates 12% airport fee. You can arrange to have one of our representatives meet you at the airport at no charge. Just provide us with your arrival info; we will wait for you at the exit of the arrival terminal with a sign with your name.
How much is the security deposit?
Our security deposit is only $750.00. At the beginning of the rental we authorize your card for this amount. At the end of the rental, we release this amount back to your credit card.
How old do I have to be?
The minimum rental age is 18 years.
Can the car leave the country?
For insurances purposes cars cannot be taken out of Costa Rica.
What happens if the rental vehicle experiences mechanical difficulties?
If your rental vehicle experiences mechanical issues, you can call toll free to the next number:

-Then the operator will ask you to dial 8875 6262.
-Then the operator will ask you to say your name after the bee.
You can do this in every payphone throughout Costa Rica 24 hours a day! We will either send you a replacement vehicle or have a mechanic resolve the issue on the spot. Our main goal is to get you back on the road as fast as possible.Can I use my credit card insurance?
Yes, actually we only have insurance company in Costa Rica (INS), and the insurance they provide does not cover small scratches, or other minor damage to the rented vehicle. Therefore we recommend you for your own protection to use the insurance program provided by your credit card. In most cases, the credit card auto rental insurance policy may cover all damages to the rented vehicle.

What insurance is included in this rate?
* Mandatory Insurance : ( offers medical insurance for all the passangers in case of accident )
*Collision Damage Waiver CDW ( Cover damages to the vehicle in case of accident,collision,theft and the client pays the $750USD deductible.
* Liability for Third Persons ( Liability for damages caused to the property of third person with a deductible of $750USD)
* Note: Insurance does not cover you in case of negligence if driving through sand, water, under the influence of alcohol or any drugs, and for violations of any conditions of the rental agreement.
. Is it an option to NOT have a $750 deductible?
Yes. For an added $15/day, you can waive the $750 deductible on our insurance. This "Zero deductible insurance" is popular with clients who do not want any out of pocket expenses in the event of an accident or theft, or damage.
Is there a minimum rental period requirement?
Yes. We require 3 days minimum rental period.
So exactly what is included in your all-inclusive daily rate?
Insurance, all taxes, unlimited miles, additional drivers, delivery and pick up of your car at the San Jose Airport or your hotel within the central valley, a detailed road map of Costa Rica and 24/7 roadside service.
When do we pay the rental fee?
You pay here in Costa Rica right when we give you the car no before.
What do I have to do to reserve the vehicle?
We need your credit card information so we can secure the car for you.Note: Reservation rates subject to change if Not guaranteed by credit card.
What is your policy on cancellations?
If you need to cancel your reservation we require at least 3 days before the first day of your reservation. Otherwise there will be a charge of $100us to your credit card.
Are your vehicles soft top or hard top?
ALL our vehicles are HARD-Tops. Most people prefer a hard top because they offer added security for your belongings inside the vehicle. Hard Tops also allow us to secure surf boards. All our vehicles are equipped with Cd player, A/C and roof racks.
Note: Never leave valuables in the car. Do not leave anything lying in sight and always park in guarded secure areas.
