Monteverde Cloud forests<\/h1>\n

The Monteverde Cloud Forest, the Monteverde Reserve and the Santa Elena Reserve comprise the third most visited destination in Costa Rica. Its cloud forests, the flora and fauna that inhabit inside of it make of this a place without equal for lovers of the nature, especially birds.<\/p>\n

The tourist area of \u200b\u200bMonteverde is known worldwide for its conservation efforts and a lifestyle centered on respect for nature. Santa Elena is the main center of services and has several commercial and tourism companies, other important communities are San Luis and San Gerardo.<\/p>\n

The main attraction is the Monteverde Biological Reserve, however there are a diversity of natural sites, picturesque paths, places of observation of flora and fauna, natural landscape, among others. generally the best way to get here is by driving a 4×4 all terrain car<\/a>,\u00a0Monteverde<\/strong><\/a> Due to the attractions and the general atmosphere, the activities are developed around the natural history and adventure as well as the realization of tourist activities in its different versions Visit this website if like to book a tour, we can mention: observation birds especially the quetzal, flora and fauna, hiking, canopy, walks on hanging bridges, visits to butterflies and ranunculars.<\/p>\n

The Reserve has a diversity of flora and fauna many of which is ‘unique’ in the world and have become an attraction of unavoidable visitation where the tourist nature-lover and the scientist share a space to enjoy their interests several. It has a diversity of trails that allows to observe the cloud forest, have been identified around 400 species of birds, 490 of butterflies and more 100 species of mammals, 2,500 of plants (500 are of orchids) and tens of thousands of insects. Of its animals stands the jaguar, the tapir, the calandria, the parasol bird and the flamboyant quetzal. It has 11,500 ha and the working hours are 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Santa Elena Reserve as it is commonly known is dedicated to the protection of the cloud forest and to contribute to the education of the community of Santa Elena, is administered by the Professional Technical College of Santa Elena, the revenues are used to protect the forest and develop environmental programs. To enjoy it have developed several trails and on clear days it is feasible to observe the Arenal Volcano. It has 310 ha and the working hours are 7 a.m. until 4:00 p.m<\/p>\n

Cloud forests<\/h2>\n

MonteverdeThe cloud forests of Monteverde and the natural reserves of Santa Elena and Monteverde are found in the Cordillera de Tilar\u00e1n, approximately 3 hours from San Jos\u00e9.<\/p>\n

The area is a unique destination for scientists and birdwatchers, as its mist forests and slopes with endless rainforests that reach Arenal Lake on its north side are inhabited by unique species of fauna including birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals and insects.<\/p>\n

The area is also home to unique and endangered species such as trees, plants and flowers. This region can be combined very well with Arenal, Guanacaste, Manuel Antonio<\/a> and Rinc\u00f3n de la Vieja, as well as other destinations, since its location is very well located in the center of the country. In the area, you can choose from many hotels, from budget hotels to luxury hotels, tours, adventure travel and ecotourism activities.
