TERMS AND CONDITIONS – FAST RENT A CAR COSTA RICA
1. RATES DO NOT INCLUDE
Rental rates do not include fuel or any other expenses not expressly specified in the rental agreement.
2. AGE AND DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
The renter must be at least 21 years old and present a valid driver’s license and passport. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.
3. FUEL POLICY
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level indicated in the rental agreement at the time of pick-up.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a charge of US$20 per quarter tank will apply for the missing fuel.
4. PAYMENT METHODS
Rental payments may be made using most major credit cards or cash, subject to the applicable rental terms.
5. CASH SECURITY DEPOSIT
A refundable cash security deposit is required, depending on the insurance option selected:
- Basic CDW: US$600
- FULL CDW: US$100
The security deposit is subject to the terms of the rental agreement and will be refunded after the vehicle is returned, provided there are no outstanding charges, damages, fines, or other amounts due.
6. LATE RETURNS AND EXTRA HOURS
A grace period of up to one hour after the scheduled return time specified in the rental agreement is permitted at no additional charge.
After the grace period, an additional charge of US$15 per hour applies for up to three additional hours.
If the vehicle is returned more than three hours after the scheduled return time, an additional full rental day will be charged.
7. GENERAL RENTAL CONDITIONS
- Daily rental rates: Each rental day consists of a 24-hour period, beginning at the agreed rental start time.
- Unlimited mileage: Unlimited mileage is included in the rental rate.
- Geographic restrictions: Rental vehicles must remain within Costa Rica and may not cross international borders.
- Required documents: The renter must present a valid driver’s license and passport.
- No-show policy: If the renter fails to pick up the vehicle as scheduled without prior notice, a US$200 no-show fee may be charged to the credit card used for the reservation, subject to the applicable booking terms.
- Additional drivers: One additional driver is included at no extra charge, subject to the rental agreement and driver eligibility requirements.
8. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By confirming a reservation and accepting the rental vehicle, the renter agrees to comply with these Terms and Conditions and the applicable rental agreement.
